When using Strategic Parts Management, a set of rules can be created that specifies, for example, when a part may be exported (see Section 4.7.3.1.7, “ Export condition - plinkgroups.cfg -> Block [role name] -> Key "EXPORTRESTRICTION" ”).

The value of the ACTIVE_STATE column can be included in this rule.

For example, the rule could be:

If a part has an ERP_PDM_NUMBER AND the ACTIVE_STATE column contains the value Released, then the part may be exported.

If there is no valid ERP mapping for a part, the status in the ACTIVE_STATE column is automatically set to Locked during a catalog update. No export can take place in this status until the status is clarified and verified in the Update Manager [Update manager].

Below you will find the rules according to which the value of ACTIVE_STATE and REQUESTED_STATE is set.

New data set

  • ACTIVE_STATE (current status) ...

    • ... is automatically set to " [Released] Released" when the mapping is "verified".

    • ...is automatically set to " [Locked] Locked" if the mapping is not "verified" or no mapping is available.

  • REQUESTED_STATE (Requested status) ...

    • ... is automatically set to "- " (hyphen) if the mapping is "verified".

    • ... is automatically set to "Renewed [Updated] " (Updated) if the mapping is not "verified" or no mapping is available.

Old data set:

  • ACTIVE_STATE...

    • ... is automatically set to " [Expired] Expired".

  • REQUESTED_STATE...

    • ... is automatically set to " [Expired] Expired".

[Note]Note

With a complete ERP mapping (this should usually be the case), a current data record that is set to " [Released] Released" under "ACTIVE_STATE" automatically remains set to "Released [Released] ".

The following figure shows the display of the statuses in PARTlinkManager: Current projects show the value Released in the Current status [Active status] column and the value Renewed [Updated] in the Requested status column. All versioned projects show the value Expired in the aforementioned columns.
